About these plots:
These plots are area, extent and concentration climatologies of Southern Hemisphere (Antarctic) sea ice represented as Hovmoller diagrams. Climatology is based on the period 1979-2008. To calculate these Hovmollers monthly sea ice concentration data were split into 5 degree longitude segments - 72 5-degree segments.Units are 1000 square kms (area and extent) and fraction (concentration).
