About these plots - Daily Southern Hemisphere (Antarctic) sea ice maps with NCEP MSLP overlay:
These plots are of daily East Antarctic sea ice concentrations for the most recent 12 month period from the AMSR-E analysis. They are updated daily (as NCEP MSLP data become available) and are overlain by the climatology for the median sea ice edge as well as the current day's large scale synoptic MSLP pattern from the NCEP analysis. The climatology contours are for the period 1979-2007 and based on having sea ice present on at least 50% of the days (see the GSFC daily sea ice concentration climatology maps (1979-2007)). Data are from 6.25km AMSRE.
