My research interests are in climate change, global warming and the effect on the worlds oceans.
I have recently begun a PhD in the new Qualitative Marine Science degree with the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems CRC, CSIRO and the University of Tasmania to study the effects of climate change on the freeze/thaw cycles of the continental ice shelves of Antarctica. More information can be found under Ice Shelves.
My research at Murdoch University, in collaboration with the Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), was one of a first to assess some of the 10 years of sea-level data collected by the AAD. The general aim of the AAD tide-gauge program is to make long-term observations of sea-level in the Southern Ocean and is part of an international attempt to implement a worldwide network of sea-level sensors to detect rising sea-levels due to global warming. My research, focused on an anomalous long-period wave observed in the shelf seas of Macquarie Island located in the Southern Ocean. More information can be found under Macquarie Island
